Driving/Parking Directions

We encourage people coming to the Occupy San Quentin demonstration to join one of the meet-ups at 10 am at Oscar Grant Plaza/14th and Broadway in Oakland or at 1540 Market @ Van Ness in San Francisco.

If you will be coming from another location, below are driving directions to the prison. The demonstration is at the East Gate.

You will NOT be able to exit on the first exit after the Richmond bridge, which is the exit often taken to get to San Quentin. Please follow the directions below:

Directions to San Quentin:

FROM SANTA ROSA:
1. Take South 101 and follow the off ramp to the Richmond Bridge.
2. Exit at E. Francisco Blvd.
3. Turn left onto Bellam Blvd. (stop light at the bottom of the exit ramp).
4. Take an immediate right onto E. Francisco Blvd., which becomes the frontage road to San Quentin Prison.

FROM SAN FRANCISCO:
1. Take North 101 and exit at E. Francisco Blvd.
2. Turn left onto Bellam Blvd. (stop light at the bottom of the exit ramp).
3. Take an immediate right onto E. Francisco Blvd., which becomes the frontage road to San Quentin Prison.

FROM RICHMOND/EAST BAY:

3. Take an immediate right onto E. Francisco Blvd., which becomes the frontage road to San Quentin Prison

Please note that you will not be able to park in the prison parking lot, on “Main Street” near the prison, or on part of Francisco Boulevard E that is closest to the prison. Main Street leading up to the prison will be blocked off by the Sheriff’s department by the freeway.

There should be street parking available Francisco Blvd East, where the driving directions above lead you. There will be signs and people to direct you to the appropriate parking.

After you park you can walk to the East Gate of San Quentin, about 1 to 1.5 miles. Or you can wait for the “shuttle” which will be driving people to the end of the road where it will be blocked off. From the blocked off point, it is less than .2 miles to the East Gate.

Please contact us if you need a ride all the way up to the East Gate and we will try and coordinate an early arrival for you, or if you have any other questions or requests. Occupy4prisoners@gmail.com

Build a bridge and find out what the Fruitvale community has to share about their experiences. Come share your experiences and say NO to criminalization, incarceration and corporate profiteering at the expense of our communities!
Rally speakers include Pancho Ramos Stierle, and Sharena Curley as well as open mic for the community.

Undocumented Youth Call to Occupy Well’s Fargo (Detention Center)

Saturday November 5th from 10am- 3pm

Rally at Occupy Oakland and March to Wells Fargo Detention Center

The most marginalized people within the 99% are fed up and we are calling for an occupation of Well’s Fargo Detention Center in Downtown Oakland just a few yards away from the Occupy Oakland Camp.

Well’s Fargo Detention Center (AKA Bank) has been making Millions of dollars investing in Immigrant Detention Centers (AKA Concentration Camps) and at the same time they invest aggressively in anti-immigrant lobbying to pass laws like Arizona’s SB 1070 which fill those camps with undocumented profit.

67 Sueños is a collective of undocumented youth and allies that refused to be passive about the violence done to our community.

We call on the 99% to stand with your most marginalized brothers, sisters and gender neutrals.

We call on the Bay Area immigrants rights movement to support our efforts to target the main profiteers of our people’s pain.

We call on Occupy Oakland to make this big bank a stones throw away one of your key targets in solidarity with our struggle.

E-mail 67suenos@gmail for info and to be involved.
