Shut Down Wells Fargo Until They Dump the Private Prison Stock!
Tuesday Jan 24th from 11am- 3pm
Nashville joins the nationwide day of action against private prisons in demanding that bailed-out banks like Wells Fargo divest from GEO and CCA, companies that make their money off of incarcerating our families and neighbors for longer and in more harsh conditions–for profit!
Meet at 11 AM at Legislative Plaza and we will march to Wells Fargo by noon to deliver the message, shut them down if we’re able, and reach out to their customers and neighbors. Join us in front of Wells Fargo any time between 11 AM and 3 PM.

Occupy Nashville will be teaming up with local groups and former CCA detainees to do a protest and street theater in front of CCA headquarters tomorrow, Monday, November 14th, at 4 PM. We will be meeting and leaving Occupy Nashville at 2 PM (Occupy Nashville is at the corner of 6th Ave and Charlotte Pike, on Legislative Plaza under the state capitol). Then we will be carpooling to CCA headquarters, at
10 Burton Hills Blvd.

This will be the first in a series of protests against both CCA and their investors, organized by Occupations around the state and country, in coordination with grassroots groups who have been researching and resisting CCA for years. The next step is that we are planning coordinated state-wide action against Wells Fargo for Black Friday, November 25th, because they are the largest stockholder and political supporter of CCA. Join a group of concerned citizens tomorrow to urge Wells Fargo to divest from the private prison industry

TIRRC will be joining a group of concerned citizens tomorrow at noon to urge Wells Fargo to divest completely from the private prison industry. Individuals will be closing their accounts with Wells Fargo, and a small delegation will enter the bank to meet with the Wells Fargo branch office manager.
